In the Spring of 1998, Cornerstone Community Ministries began with a group of 17 Elizabethtown area pastors and business leaders who were burdened to reach the growing number of youths roaming the downtown area, many of whom had behavioral issues and little family stability. By September of that year, the Cornerstone Café opened on the Center Square of Elizabethtown, with the main emphasis being a Friday night coffee house. By October of 2007, Cornerstone outgrew its location on the Square and purchased the current location at 95 S. Wilson Avenue. Since then, Cornerstone grew from a Friday night coffeehouse to a full-service Youth Center that currently hosts students in grades 6 to 12. Since 2022, we have added an indoor Skatepark, Rock Climbing Wall, Basketball Court, and updated our Coffee Shop and Music Room for students to discover their hidden or undeveloped talents. Cornerstone is open daily for after-school programming and has special programming on Friday nights. Our mission is to provide a safe & fun environment where youth can build healthy relationships, be introduced to the Gospel, and experience wholeness in life through Christ. Our vision is to continue the work of Jesus Christ by meeting the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of youth in partnership with their families, local churches and the community. Our center is a place where young people encounter the love of Christ, receive mentoring from caring adults, and engage in purposeful activities that build life skills, spiritual depth, and community awareness.
