Cause Profile:

asantY Community is a Christ-centered nonprofit organization serving New Americans from Africa in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Founded in 2024. Our mission is to empower the New Americans from Africa to thrive in their new home. We do this by demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ by welcoming, equipping, and empowering individuals and families to flourish spiritually, socially, educationally, and economically. We believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent dignity, unique gifts, and the capacity to make meaningful contributions to their community.

Our ministry provides holistic, culturally responsive support to refugee and immigrant families as they navigate the challenges of resettlement in the United States. Many of the individuals we serve have experienced war, persecution, displacement, loss, and significant cultural transitions.

asantY Community walks alongside these families by addressing both immediate needs and long-term opportunities for growth through education, leadership development, mentorship, family strengthening, youth programming, music and arts enrichment, workforce readiness, cultural orientation, and community engagement.

Faith is the foundation of everything we do. While our services are offered to all people regardless of race, nationality, language, or religious background, our work is motivated by Christ’s call to love our neighbors, welcome the stranger, and care for those who are vulnerable. We seek not only to meet practical needs but also to restore hope, strengthen families, build healthy relationships, and cultivate resilient communities where individuals can thrive.

asantY Community has become a trusted bridge between New American families and the broader Lancaster community. We collaborate with local schools, churches, community organizations, volunteers, and civic leaders to increase cultural understanding, improve educational outcomes, and expand access to essential resources. Our leadership has engaged with school administrators, educators, local government representatives, and community stakeholders to advocate for culturally responsive practices, promote student success, and address barriers affecting refugee and immigrant families.

Our organization also partners with churches and faith communities to mobilize volunteers who provide mentoring, transportation, educational assistance, hospitality, and practical support. These partnerships strengthen our ability to serve families holistically while fostering mutual understanding and unity across cultures.

Beyond direct services, asantY Community is committed to developing the next generation of leaders. Through leadership training, service opportunities, financial literacy, music programs, and community involvement, we equip children, youth, and adults with the knowledge, confidence, and character needed to become positive influences within their families and neighborhoods.

asantY Community’s long-term vision is to build thriving communities where New Americans experience belonging, opportunity, and hope. We envision neighborhoods where families are economically stable, children succeed academically, cultural diversity is celebrated, and churches, schools, businesses, and community organizations work together for the common good.

Guided by the biblical principles of compassion, stewardship, justice, hospitality, and servant leadership, asantY Community remains committed to transforming lives through faith, education, partnership, and practical service. Every program we develop is designed to empower individuals, strengthen families, and build healthier, more welcoming communities where all people can flourish.
