Upward Call Counseling Services

Upward Call was founded in 1996 by Bob Weaver, who had a purpose of providing a “Christ centered counseling service for persons wanting to experience wholeness for themselves and in all of their relationships”. Shepherd’s Touch was founded in 1992 by Dr. James E. Johnson, who provided professional counseling to a local church congregation, The Worship Center, with a heart to reach various congregations. In 2010, Upward Call and Shepard’s Touch combined resources to merge as one agency under the corporate name of Upward Call Counseling Services.

The new organization, operating under the name of Upward Call Counseling Services, is operated by a separate Board of Directors, and is independent of any church or denominational group, which allows us to serve a broader spectrum of the community.

Here’s how your gift can help:

• We are asking for funding to help build up our Compassionate Care Fund. The fund helps clients that may not be able to pay the full price of their sessions. We use the client’s income to determine the amount they would pay. The fund pays the difference in the price of their sessions. The fund helps make therapy sessions more affordable. The client gets the help they need.
