Christian Service Brigade

Since 1937 Christian Service Brigade has been making a difference in the lives of boys and men. We know the importance of mentoring. We equip men with the tools needed to mentor boys of all ages as they grow into manhood. We see the devastation of fatherlessness and the destruction it leaves behind in the life of a boy as he becomes a man and father himself. Brigade is here to step in and reach out to both men and boys by creating context, content, and culture designed for boys and men to thrive as they grow together and become the leaders of tomorrow.

At the beginning of this path, a boy starts in Tree Climbers with his dad (or significant male adult), learning the basic spiritual habits that will serve him for a lifetime. As he grows, he moves to Stockade, where he becomes part of a Post, a small group of his peers led by a man who guides the boy’s holistic growth (mental, physical, spiritual, and social). By the time he becomes a young man, he will be in Battalion, where he will be challenged to lead his peers with guidance from the men around him. We call this a leadership laboratory, where they can make mistakes, learn and grow as leaders.When a young man graduates from high school, he is challenged to become a man of God, to follow the Seven Points of Valor as the template of what it means to be Christ-like.

The heart of this journey started in Stockade with the Achievement program, a spiritual road map that called the men in his life to guide him toward maturity. This finishes with Battalion giving him a Biblical worldview that allows him to stand firm in his faith as a man of God, as he goes into the world before him.
