Cause Profile:

Many years ago, our founder, Roy Smith, became deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of those who dedicate themselves to helping others. It all began when he witnessed the tireless efforts of pastors, nurses, teachers, social workers, first responders, and countless others who often gave their all without asking for anything in return.

Driven by a belief that those who serve as the backbone of our communities deserved recognition and support, Roy decided to create something extraordinary. He embarked on a journey to establish Servant’s Oasis, a non-profit organization that would serve as a refuge for those who work tirelessly in selfless occupations. Servant’s Oasis was founded in 1993, with the mission of training, encouraging, equipping, and refueling these unsung heroes so they are able to continue their work with the support and resources they desperately need. Servant’s Oasis is equipping pastors, missionaries, and other serving-leaders in Lancaster County and surrounding communities with books, leadership resources, and tools to assist in their ministries, as well as in-person and video trainings, conferences, and seminars.

In 2020, Servant’s Oasis purchased a property in a picturesque corner of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Servant’s Oasis is developing its newly acquired property to provide a space for those in need to rest and heal from the wounds they’ve taken on in serving others. Through the support of generous donors and volunteers, Servant’s Oasis is blossoming into a thriving haven of assistance and encouragement. Pastors, missionaries, and serving leaders are invited to use the training areas and gardens of Servant’s Oasis for their own daytime conferences and day-long retreats.
