Kind Human Foundation

The Kind Human Foundation was founded at the same time as our sister organization, Humankind Water. The latter is a bottled water which gives 100% of its net profits to provide wells and filters around the world to get people in great need clean drinking water. The former, is its associated 501c3. In this way, people can contribute EITHER by buying our water (and now teas, lemonades and fruit juices) OR by making a tax deductible donation to the Kind Human Foundation.

The idea was born in prayer. I was challenged by a friend to do a fast called a “Daniel Fast”. We were praying for specific guidance in our lives. When the LORD spoke to me as clearly as He ever has to start a bottled water company to get people clean drinking water. The bottles of water do raise money, but even MORE money gets raised in using the bottle as an awareness raiser, to point people towards giving…through the foundation

To date we are extremely blessed to have gotten over 300,000 people clean drinking water in Haiti, India, Africa, Latin America, Flint Michigan….in short, wherever people need clean drinking water. There is a board for the Foundation which is separate from the board of the beverage company. Every member of the board are professing Christians. (So, too, for the beverage brand’s BOD).

Shortly after the LORD gave me this word, and only two weeks after getting our first bottles of water “off the presses”…WalMart announced it was having a contest called “Get On The Shelf”. Basically “American Idol” for products. Any product too small to get into WalMart may enter. Whoever gets the most votes wins. Whoever wins gets a spot on WalMarts shelves. Long story short, little Humankind Water, with exactly ONE store selling our product won the WalMart contest. We went from a single health store in West Philly to the biggest retail monolith on the planet overnight. We believe it was God’s hand. That shot us out of a cannon and gave us yet another opportunity to brag on God and His unimaginable goodness. • $60 buys one filtrations system through our partners in Laos which provides clean drinking water for one classroom for multiple years
• $1500 buys one borewell rehab to make a longtime non-functioning well viable again in India. These wells provide clean water for hundreds of individuals in remote villages of water stressed areas.
• $3000 buys a water cistern in the Dominican Republic. There are remote villages where public water is pumped in extremely infrequently and capriciously. Sometimes for just an hour or two a week. Everyone in the village scrambles to get a bucket when one person realizes the water has been turned on wasting many precious gallons. With a cistern built around the public pipe…literally every drop gets captured every time the water is turned on providing thousands of gallons of clean water with zero waste.
• $8500 buys one new borewell in India or Africa.
