Woodcrest’s mission is to introduce people to Jesus Christ and encourage Christian growth through programs and partnerships that emphasize creation and community. Our main areas where we accomplish this mission is through summer camps, outdoor education field trips, community events, hospitality (rental facilities), youth outreach, and ministry support. Started in 1959 as a place for Christians to get away and experience the peace and presence of God, Woodcrest has grown to serve over 2,000 campers in the summer and partner with over 320 churches to help them with their missions. Our vision is to create space for people to experience the Wonder of God either through Woodcrest programs or partnering with churches, organizations and families to help them accomplish their goals.
With 110-acres, Woodcrest provides a great place to escape the ordinary and experience the extraordinary. We create over 99,000 hours of screen-free summer for youth. Last year, 50 new believers were baptized in our pool by 13 churches that used our facilities to hold services and picnics. We hosted 600 students through our field trips with homeschool co-ops, Christian schools and even public schools. Over 40% of our campers are unchurched which means we have a great opportunity to introduce the love of our Savior to them. Although we are subsidize our summer camp, we also award over $15,000 a year in camp scholarships so that finances are never excuse for a child to miss out on the power of camp.
