In 1975, Norman Hahn, Melvin Martin, John Sensenig, and Bob Weaver envisioned a center to promote growth, connection, and meaningful contributions within the community. For the past fifty years, the mission of Lighthouse Vocational Services (Lighthouse) has been to promote growth, opportunity, and hope for persons with disabilities based on Christian values and principles. Lighthouse accomplishes its mission by providing high-quality, person-centered programming including vocational services, educational enrichment, and community integration experiences. The driving force of the organization is the belief that God created each individual with value and a purpose for life.
Lighthouse is a proud contributor to the fabric and culture of Lancaster County with sustained memberships with the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Lancaster Chamber of Commerce; New Holland Business Association; The ARC of Lancaster-Lebanon County; RCPA.
