Columbia Presbyterian Church was chartered in 1807. In 2009 the church began an extensive ministry to the community of Columbia, PA, by forming a faith-based nonprofit organization named Hands Across the Street. In November of 2021, we rebranded and affiliated with the Dream Center Network and became Columbia Dream Center (CDC). We serve in the areas of hunger, homelessness, and clothing needs. CDC operates a food pantry, soup kitchen, community meals, and feeds out of school children in the summer. Our year-round homeless shelter has been in constant operation since 2018, and in 2021 we opened a day center ministry that connects people to services, medical and substance-abuse help, and housing opportunities. We also have a clothing bank that is open twice a week, providing free clothing to an average of 500 clients per month. CDC provides essential needs and opportunities for prayer, bible-study and worship.
