AgConnect Ministries

Cause Profile:

AgConnect Ministries is an Christian agricultural consulting organization. We began working with Moldovan farmers in 2005 after receiving an invitation through a church contact. After working with these farmers for several years, AgConnect was officially founded in 2013. AgConnect provides personal consulting to individual farmers as well as seminars with larger groups. To better serve the farmers we educate, we recently purchased and renovated a house and small farm where we constructed two large greenhouses and renovated one. At this facility, we train locals in greenhouse management and growing vegetables. Our agronomist which lives there shares the Gospel one-on-one with those we touch and provides food when humanitarian aid is needed.
Our second project is in Kenya, Africa where we partner with another Christian organization specializing in evangelism and pastoral training. AgConnect provides agricultural seminars to train pastors and church leaders. The training we provide is taken back to the pastors’ congregations, where they pass on the information to farmers in their villages. We taught around 2,000 church leaders this past year with the potential to reach 100,000 people, providing practical applications to help village farmers advance to the next level of crop and animal health and productivity. When farmers become profitable, they then share their blessings in order to support their local churches and advance the Kingdom of God.

Here’s how your gift can help:

  • $600 provides for the purchase of one goat with top genetics to small African farmers who would not otherwise have access to top south African genetics. We import goats from South Africa and promote those genetics by giving or selling the offspring to village farmers of poor communities.
  • $1600 buys an airline ticket to Kenya to participate in a church leadership conference for education reaching 2000 church leaders and through seminars and printed materials. When these leaders return to their congregations, they have the ability to collectively influence 100,000 people.
  • $500 a month sponsors a Moldovan to work in our greenhouses for a month.
  • $500 helps fund our research of no-till farming corn and sunflowers in southern Moldova, for advanced soil health testing.
  • $100 per month provides for expenses related to the greenhouses, to provide delivery of emergency food and vegetable assistance for extreme hardship cases.
