Cause Profile:

Oaks Ministry exists to provide hope, healing, and restoration in a Christ-centered residential environment for women in need. We offer housing and Christian-based support services for women who are actively working towards financial stability and independence.

Back in 2012, God gave our founder, Robin Martin a vision for this ministry and a call to work with hurting women. Isaiah 61:1-4 provided Biblical confirmation. The Oaks Ministry was legally incorporated in 2015 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Pennsylvania and a Board of Directors was appointed to oversee the organization. A beautiful old farmhouses on a local church property in Oxford was made available and renovated through generous financial donations. We welcomed our first residents in January 2016. Nine months later our second Oxford residence opened. A third home was opened in 2023 in Wakefield, PA. The Lord continues to use the Oaks Ministry to remind our women that they are dearly loved, completely accepted and fully forgiven in Christ. As we share the Gospel message with these women, the healing from hurt and hopelessness and despair begins. “They will be called Oaks of Righteousness – a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.

As we have grown over the years, we have expanded services to include mental health counseling for all the women in our program, as well as a dedicated vehicle for each home to ease transportation needs. Our women attend Bible studies, Celebrate Recovery and other programs at local churches in the community as well as at home. They participate in service projects in the community to learn the joy of giving back.

We are currently nearing a critical milestone in the future of the Oaks Ministry. In a few weeks we will come to the end of the first phase of our largest capital campaign to date. We are closing in on our goal of $700,000 to purchase the run down and abandoned, Parkesburg Arms Hotel which would allow us to consolidate our program in one location and triple our capacity to serve Chester and Lancaster Counties. We will look to retain our original homes and use them for step down programs for women in need of low income housing and/or to create environments to potentially serve pregnant women or single women with children.
