We exist to empower people, connect resources, and build community. Our story begins in 1994 when three churches, all of different denominations, surveyed the PVSD community to find the greatest need facing residents. Their question, ‘How can we help? ’ has been the catalyst for all we do at The Factory to this day. In 1994 The Factory Youth Center was born, and until 2006, services were run out of an old sewing factory. From 2006-2011 services expanded to include adult social services, a market, and partnership with local schools, churches, and other organizations. The Factory Ministries was born. In 2018, The Factory moved into the old Paradise Elementary School. Today we serve over 2,000 people annually with a team of 15 employees and 91 volunteers. We value collaboration, a holistic understanding of poverty, change through relationship, and care by empowerment as we serve as the hands and feet of Jesus. We do that by being a place of belonging for every person who walks in our building. Our goal is to see a community of people who are empowered by the love of Jesus and the resources they need to break cycles of poverty…because everyone’s journey matters.
