The mission statement of All-nations Association of Bible Schools (AABS) is: Making Biblical education available and affordable in local churches and communities around the world. Our primary focus is on equipping local pastors, church leaders, and laypeople with the theological knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively serve their communities and spread the Gospel. This Association exists to encourage and empower churches and church leaders to establish and operate their own Bible Schools to train and raise up their own church leaders and workers to combat this worldwide lack of training. We provide Biblical teaching curriculum which is bound into 8 volumes and contains 62 courses. It is prepared in a way that is easy to teach and the students also enjoy studying them. We also provide a package of documents which assist with the operation of a Bible school. When the students complete their studies at their school, we offer the following depending on field of study: Advanced Diploma, Diploma, Advanced Certificate and Certificate.
Currently we have resourced schools in: Ghana, Nigeria, Niger, Mali, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Togo, Benin, Sierra Leone, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi, Eswatini, and Angola in Africa. Outside of Africa, we have resourced schools in Mexico, Costa Rica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, India, and Bhutan through our new branch, All-nations Association of Bible Schools.
The Africa Association of Bible Schools, our founding name, was started in 2004 with a vision to address the critical need for quality theological education across Africa, particularly in the villages and rural areas. Recognizing that many church leaders lacked formal training, and many were not able to go to a campus-based Bible College, our founders sought to create an organization that would bridge this gap and support the growth of the church on the continent.
The AABS ministry was begun in Accra, Ghana during the missionary tenure of our founder, Ps. JC Ebersole. The Lord gave us a vision to expand the training of pastors and church leaders in such a way that it would reach many more men and women in many more places than could possibly be trained at a campus-based Bible college. We envisioned this training would increase exponentially if it were made available “on-site”, that is, in the local churches and communities across Africa and beyond.
At the start AABS offered a curriculum of 48 theological courses, a packet of documents containing guidance to begin and operate a Bible school, and numerous additional resources for AABS member schools. This package of resources has at times been referred to as “a Bible school in a box.” In October 2004 AABS organized its first annual Bible school equipping conference in Accra, Ghana with 25 Bible school directors in attendance. In 2011 AABS began offering a 62-course curriculum for Bible schools. By 2013 there were hundreds of member Bible Schools in ten countries equipping leaders to disciple the nations while building the local church. In 2018 a West Africa Region Director was appointed to oversee the national directors who were being appointed in West African countries, and expand AABS to all sixteen countries of this region. AABS joined the Hopewell Network of Churches in 2021. Through the International Networks that are part of the Hopewell Network, AABS has resourced Bible schools in Haiti, Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and India. Expanding beyond Africa led to an additional name in 2023, All-nations Association of Bible Schools. We are excited to see the additional countries, both within and beyond Africa, that God leads us into.
In February 2023, a Region Director was appointed to place and oversee national directors in the ten countries of the Southern Africa region. To God be the glory.
